Ten Minutes Before the Flight of Icarus
A manifesto for the post-Soviet generation of Lithuanian filmmakers who rejected straightforward declarativity and immersed themselves into the silent observation of reality. Arunas Matelis traces the beginnings of post-Soviet transformation not in the main squares of Vilnius but observes it in the daily life of the inhabitants of Užupis–a historical quarter of the old town of Vilnius. The film, awarded in the Oberhausen, Bornholm and Pärnu film festivals, was also screened as a feature in the Cannes Film Festival.

My favorite movie from year 1990. This movie, which I free even refuse to compare with the other ones is the masterpiece created by my favorite director. The movie is openly dreamlike, and like most dreams it moves uncertainly down a path with many turnings.
This is a few words of movie music: simple, deceptive, awesome, just right. I never expected anything from this animated before and I blew my mind. It’s taken me multiple rewatches and a lot of hours on the wiki to understand everything.
You do not have to fall in love with a to enjoy this movie. I have not found Ten Minutes Before the Flight of Icarus movie full elsewhere so I uploaded it here, so everyone now can see it online for free.
