In a strange landscape of the Greek mountain, marked by the furnaces, where dust and fumes veil the light, charcoal burners and their families, sometimes from far away, burn wood to make charcoal. They rent out, in a way, their work to a contractor during the five to six months of the summer.

For me, this movie is one of the best movie released in the year 1990. Most movies, even the greatest ones, evaporate like mist once you’ve returned to the real world; they leave memories behind, but their reality fades free quickly. But not Charbonniers. I was so emotionally destroyed that I saw the entire movie three times on the internet almost in one go.
Easily movie with the best dialogues ever. There is not a single thing wrong with that movie. It sets the 10/10 standard for every other movies in existence for me. An movie highly valued for me.
